About The Wire ReportFebruary 7, 2008 - 12:51pm — The Wire Report
The Wire Report is the leading news service covering the rapidly converging Canadian telecom, broadcasting, wireless and new media sectors. Our specialist editorial team is dedicated to providing timely coverage of business, regulatory and policy developments in this increasingly competitive and convergent communications industry. We have developed a valued reputation for going beyond the coverage of daily industry events. Based in Ottawa, with an office located steps away from Parliament Hill and just across the river from the CRTC, we keep a keen eye on regulatory developments at the CRTC, the Copyright Board, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, Industry Canada’s spectrum management branch, Canadian Heritage, and the House of Commons and Senate. The Wire Report provides government and industry reaction to news developments for decision makers, policy analysts, government relations officials, regulatory and legal staff, news media and academics across the country. Our website represents the largest and only dedicated archive of its kind in Canada, with a searchable collection of articles and news reports from 2000 to today. Our archives and breaking news deliver government, business and public sector organizations a competitive edge and help them remain at the forefront in a competitive and rapidly changing communications system. The Wire Report is published by the Hill Times Publishing, which in late 2009 acquired the news service’s four historic titles, Canadian New Media (digital media), Network Letter (telecom), Canadian Communications Reports (broadcasting), and Report on Wireless (wireless). These titles, which have been described as the “bibles” of Canada’s communications industry, have a 20-year history under the previous ownerships of Evert Communications, Decima Research, and Dovercourt Editorial Services. Together, these titles make up The Wire Report online news service. We welcome opinion articles relating to the telecom, new media, broadcasting or wireless sectors. They should be no more than 900 words and may be sent to news@thewirereport.ca for consideration. We also receive regular contributions from freelancers. Follow us on Twitter at @thewirereport.
